New contract supports Welsh Dental Referral Management System

Patients in Wales in need of specialist dental care will continue to track their referrals through the NHS Wales Dental Referral Management Service following a new contract between Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and the referral system provider RMS Ltd.

Computer system outage affecting 111 and out of hours GP

There is a major outage of a computer system that is used to refer patients from NHS 111 Wales to out-of-hours GP providers. This system is used by Local Health Boards to coordinate these services for patients. The ongoing outage is significant and has been far reaching, impacting each of the four nations in the UK. Betsi Cadwaladr UHB West joins Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS)

The much-anticipated migration of data from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) West’s Patient Information Management System (PIMS) into the BCUHB Central instance of DHCW’s Welsh Patient Administration System (WelshPAS) successfully went live on Monday 16th May 2022.

Linking patient data makes life-saving medicine available to vulnerable people

Thousands of vulnerable people in Wales who test positive for COVID-19 are being given easy access to anti-viral medication thanks to a partnership between Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and  Wales’ National Antiviral Service (NAVS).
