CareDirector has recently been integrated with the Welsh Reference Data & Terminology Service (WRTS). Senior Support & Business Analyst, Claire Latham, shares what this work has involved and how it benefits users.
Integrating CareDirector with WRTS allows users of the system to access data from a variety of sources across health boards and local authorities. This speeds up data delivery and reduces the strain on the original systems where the data is stored.
The Welsh Reference Data and Terminology Service maintains reference data on behalf of NHS Wales. It acts as a central hub for this information, making it easily accessible and ensuring that reference data is available when needed.
The integration went live on August 5 2024 and saw 1,369 GP practices created and a further 8,119 practices updated.
The system now contains an up-to-date list of GP practice names and addresses, which will be regularly updated.
These GP Practices are available nationally across the system. Users are encouraged not to create their own GP practice records to ask for support from their local systems team if they require assistance.
A request has been made to the system supplier to enhance the GP search function, making it easier for users to find their required GP practice. Updates on this development will be provided as they become available.
