New guidance materials that explain why NHS Wales collects information about patients and how this data may be used is now available from the DHCW website.
Your Privacy, Your Rights can be viewed as online content, or downloaded as a leaflet and as a poster. The materials help put people in the picture about how information is held by the NHS in Wales and how it is used.
Information held by the NHS in Wales is protected by strict data rules covering privacy, confidentiality and security and is kept in accordance with legal requirements and the law.
Designed to supplement local privacy policies and notices, the new materials reflect latest data protection legislation and can be tailored by NHS organisations to meet local requirements.
Your Privacy, Your Rights replaces previous information materials known as Your Information, Your Rights. The Information Governance team is asking staff to please note this change and alter any existing references from “Your Information Your Rights” to “Your Privacy Your Rights”.
