30 June 2023

Digital Health and Care Wales and the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio are looking forward to showcasing their work at two upcoming national conferences and events to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS.

On July 5 and 6,  we will be taking part in a conference organised by the Bevan Commission  - The Tipping Point: Where next for health and care?

The conference, at the Celtic Manor, Newport, brings together around 400 international experts and senior leaders for conversations about the future of health and care in Wales and the steps needed to rebuild health and social care systems to thrive in a modern world.

Digital Health and Care Wales and the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio will be running a 40-minute breakout session for delegates at 3.00pm on day two (6 July). The session will focus on how the use of digital technology can address some of the challenges facing health and care and transform patient care and experiences.

Professor Hamish Laing, Senior Responsible Owner for the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio, said:

“The time has come to think and act differently The NHS is facing unprecedented challenges and digital technology can play an important part in overcoming them.

Digital services, like the work we are doing in the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio, can make care safer, more efficient and effective. It can support people to manage their own health better and clinicians to do their jobs more easily.”
