A 12-week project to identify challenges and opportunities in mental health services across Wales has been shortlisted for an NHS Wales Award.
Led by the Primary, Community and Mental Health team at DHCW, the project has been shortlisted for the ‘NHS Wales Whole Systems Approach Award.’ It looked at how digital tools and data could transform mental health services in Wales, to provide care that meets each person’s unique needs.
The project had two phases. The first focused on mental health services in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg region. In the second phase, the team engaged with the six other health boards, national organisations and individuals through a series of workshops and interviews.
The NHS Wales Awards celebrate excellence in health and care in Wales. They highlight the quality and safety improvements that have transformed the experiences and outcomes for people in Wales. The award categories align with the Duty of Quality and Health and Care Quality Standards 2023.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Cardiff on Thursday, October 24th. The judges, from NHS Wales, the public sector and professional bodies, had a tough time narrowing down the 36 finalists from many inspiring entries. The next stage will see judges take part in virtual visits with each finalist to learn more about their improvement projects.
