Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) has welcomed the publication of the Welsh Government’s refreshed Digital and Data Strategy for Health and Social Care.
The updated strategy provides a national direction for digital and data to improve the experience of health and social care staff and users, tackle key strategic challenges facing the sectors and help people to lead happier, healthier and longer lives.
It places a focus on inclusive and user-centred digital and data services and how the use of innovative new technologies can empower people to manage their own health and prevent illness.
Ifan Evans, Director of Digital Strategy for DHCW, said:
“As the lead organisation delivering digital and data services for NHS Wales, we really welcome this refreshed strategy, which puts people at the heart of what we do. The opportunities that high quality digital and data services bring are huge – technology will support people to lead healthier lives and help our NHS and social care colleagues to address the really difficult challenges they are currently facing.
We look forward to working with Welsh Government and our key partners to deliver the priorities and ambitions outlined within the strategy, and seeing the positive impacts that they will bring.”
