An opportunity for shared listening and learning at HETT Show 2023

Digital Health and Care Wales has confirmed several speakers at the Healthcare Excellence Through Technology (HETT) show this September at the ExCeL London. Free for the NHS and the public sector, the event offers two days of educational sessions, workshops and interactive breakout sessions exploring the systems and infrastructure that underpin and enable a data-driven NHS. With over 4,500 attendees, Digital Health and Care Wales is excited to be showcasing our recent work and developments.

Day one will see Matt Cornish, DSPP Programme Director, discuss the importance of building trust in digital health, ensuring apps are user friendly and encouraging patients to take more responsibility in managing their own care.  Examining the importance of user-centred design, Executive Medical Director Rhidian Hurle will be considering how to address the skills gap across health and social care and using data to inform service transformation. Joining the FemTech, Women’s Health, Digital Support for Women’s Health Concerns panel, Anne Watkins, the DHCW Maternity Clinical Informatics Lead, will be exploring how support manifests in the NHS and where more digital innovation is needed to further aid women with their health concerns.

On the second day, Professor Hamish Laing, Senior Responsible Owner, Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio, will be demonstrating the progress being made with electronic prescribing and the impact digital medicines can have on patient care, exploring how standards and vigilance help support better patient safety and care. A panel discussing the impact of robust supply chains and response planning in cyber security will see Assistant Director of Cyber Security, Jamie Graham, exploring how resilience plans can support a future of solid defences against cyber-attacks. Sian Thomas, Senior Responsible Owner for Welsh Nursing Care Record and Digital Maternity Cymru, will share what’s new for patient facing technology, exploring the public shift to digitally forward health care and how the NHS can optimise what is already in place.
