Big Data team celebrates another successful event: Learning in partnership

Last week, the Advanced Analytics team in the National Data Resource, in partnership with Life Sciences Hub Wales, held its fourth Big Data event, welcoming record numbers to its online webinar. 

The event brought together leading experts and colleagues from NHS Wales and partner organisations to share their insights, innovations, and best practices in Big Data. 

The theme "Learning in partnership" resonated with attendees, sparking engaging discussions and lots of knowledge sharing. 

 

Meet Our Host and Speakers 

  • Rebecca Cook, Chief Data Officer at Digital Health and Care Wales, hosted the event, introducing the speakers and answering questions about the National Data Resource programme. Rebecca welcomed an impressive lineup of speakers: 
  • Dr Jonathan Bright, Research Fellow, Head of AI for Public Services talked about the opportunities and challenges of AI in the public sector. 
  • Dr Alex Aubrey, Clinical Lead for AI, Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) shared how AI is shaping healthcare education in Wales and across the UK. 
  • Andrew Griffiths, CEO, FEDIP discussed working with health and care professional bodies to support the informatics profession. 
  • Louise Smith, Project Manager, National Data Resource - Advanced Analytic spoke about collaborative analytics learning for health and social care in Wales. 

The experts underscored the importance of education in integrating AI into healthcare, highlighting the need for responsible use and the value of specialist knowledge. 

 
 
 

Building on the success of this and previous events, the Big Data team plans to continue hosting similar events on various topics affecting Big Data in the healthcare sector. The next event will be held in the autumn, with the date and theme to be confirmed.
