Through the NDR, NHS Wales is applying techniques like predictive modelling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract insight and support better decisions. Whether it’s identifying patients at risk of deterioration or forecasting future demand for services, analytics is helping clinicians and planners take proactive, informed action.

Importantly, these tools are developed and used within NHS Wales, ensuring they are transparent, ethical, and aligned with our values. The goal is not to replace professional judgement – it’s to support it with timely, relevant information.
