Marian Wyn Jones is the former Head of Centre for the BBC in North Wales. An award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker, Marian had a successful career in broadcasting before developing a portfolio career as a Non Executive Director and Communications Consultant.  

Since 2010, she has held a number of Non-Executive roles and is currently Chair of Council  of Bangor University, the first woman to be appointed to this role in its 137 year history. She is a Trustee and Vice Chair of Arts Council Wales, and has previously served as Vice Chair and Independent Member of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. 

Alongside her contribution to Broadcasting and Communications, Marian has significant experience as a strategic leader in policy and regulation, through her previous roles as a Non-Exec on the Board of Welsh Language Broadcaster S4C, and the Snowdonia National Park Authority.  

She was brought up in Mid Wales and is a native Welsh speaker.
